What is an Emergency Dentist?

Dr. Chien provides emergency services to patients who are experiencing a dental emergency. Whether you are a new patient or have already been established as one of our patients, we recommend calling in immediately at the first sign of an emergency situation. We work with pediatric as well as adult patients, so you can feel confident that your emergency will be handled quickly. This gets rid of the pain, discomfort and distress that you’re feeling regarding the emergency.

Why might you need an Emergency Dentist?

Emergencies can happen at any time, even if you take great care of your teeth. A tooth might break or you might be playing sports only to find that a tooth has completely fallen out. Whatever the situation, we are here to provide you with the care that you need so that you can get back to living life to the fullest. Our goal is to get you in as soon as possible so that we can begin treating the problem.

What entails a Dental Related Emergency?

There are many different types of dental emergencies that should be seen as soon as possible. We work with both children and adults, so we see quite a lot of emergencies throughout the week. Some of the more common emergencies we see include:

  • Pain and severe tooth sensitivity
  • Abscesses and infections
  • Teeth that have fallen out
  • Broken crowns, veneers and prosthetics
  • Fillings that have fallen out
  • Cracked, broken and fractured natural teeth
  • Bleeding gums and inflammation

What can you expect during the procedure to treat an Emergency?

You will first come in and have the tooth examined. X-rays may be needed to determine the root cause of the problem. Once we find the problem, we will create a treatment plan specific to your needs. We can begin the work immediately or with another scheduled appointment. If you have an infection or abscess, you may require antibiotics before any additional work can be done. Our goal is to get you seen quickly for any type of emergency to reduce the likelihood of it getting worse.

If you’re experiencing a dental emergency and need to be seen right away, call us now and we can work to get you in immediately.
