Kids Pediatric Dentistry

What is Kids Pediatric Dentistry?

It is important that children of all ages receive routine dental care. Preventative checkups should be done every six months to keep their teeth and gums healthy. Even small infants who are just getting their first teeth in should be seeing the dentist. Dr. Chien is able to provide comprehensive corrective and preventative care that is geared to children of all ages.

Why does your child need Kids Pediatric Dentistry?

Keeping your children’s teeth healthy is important, as it reduces the likelihood of them developing cavities and other intraoral-related issues. At-home care is just as crucial, but by coming to the dentist often with your child, we can give important at-home care instructions on how to properly brush and floss your child’s teeth. Our goal is to provide your children with beautiful, healthy smiles.

What makes your child a good candidate for Kids Pediatric Dentistry?

Every child is a good candidate for pediatric dentistry. In fact, it is important to establish routine dental care with your child as soon as you begin to notice their first baby teeth coming up through the gums. Your child should come and visit our office every six months for a regular cleaning and checkup. We provide their care in a calm, relaxed and kid-friendly manner.

What can you expect during an appointment for Kids Pediatric Dentistry?

Your child will first come in and be seated in our office. A hygienist will work to clean their teeth and then polish them to a high shine. If x-rays are needed, these will be taken at the time of their appointment. Dr. Chien then comes in and performs an exam. The exam looks for signs of decay as well as healthy tooth development. If orthodontic work is needed, this will be discussed at your bi-annual appointment. The entire procedure takes just about an hour in our office and we can pre-schedule your child to come in again in another six months.

If your child is in need of pediatric care, call our office today and we will work to get them scheduled for an appointment.
