Lumineers

What are Lumineers?

Lumineers are veneers that are placed on the front of your teeth. They help to cover up teeth that are broken, chipped or discolored so that your entire smile looks transformed. They are made out of durable materials to ensure that your new Lumineers last for up to a decade. The procedure is noninvasive and often requires little to absolutely no anesthetic at all.

Why would you need Lumineers?

You may need or want Lumineers because you’re looking to transform your smile. Veneers are durable and long-lasting, so they are often a more cost-effective option than other restorations. Because Lumineers can be placed in as little as two visits, you’ll have a brilliantly transformed smile in just weeks. You may want Lumineers if you have gaps between your front teeth, chips, cracks, fractured or discoloration.

What makes you a candidate for Lumineers?

Lumineers are a safe option for most dental patients. They are bonded to the front of your teeth only, so they only benefit the anterior portion of your smile. To be considered for the procedure, you’ll need to come in for an exam and consultation with Dr. Chien. Dr. Chien will determine if you can benefit from Lumineers and the best restorative option for you.

What can you expect with the procedure for Lumineers?

You will first come in and have the very fronts of your teeth filed and buffed. Impressions are taken to create the Lumineers for you and a shade guide used to match them perfectly with the rest of your smile. A bonding agent is applied to the teeth and the Lumineers placed on top. They may be adjusted to look more realistic and natural. With great care, your new veneers can last for up to a decade and provide you with a gorgeous, lasting smile. You may want to go with Lumineers if you’re looking for a cost-effective, noninvasive restorative option.
