Veneers & Laminates

What are Veneers & Laminates?

Veneers and laminates are cosmetic enhancements that change the complete look of your smile. You can think of both of these restorations as a way to cover up small imperfections at the front of your teeth. The veneers are natural-looking and thin, so they aren’t bulky or intrusive. The procedure is noninvasive and typically requires no anesthetic.

Why would you want Veneers & Laminates?

You may want veneers or laminates if you’re ready to make a change to your appearance. Many people who are going to be attending special events, like weddings or class reunions, will benefit from veneers because of how transforming they can be. Veneers are surprisingly durable and can last up to 10 years without needing to be repaired or replaced at all. They are matched to your existing smile, which gives the appearance of real, natural teeth.

What makes you a candidate for Veneers & Laminates?

Most healthy adult patients are good candidate for veneer work. The veneers are custom made for each patient, so you can benefit from a natural look that is realistic when you smile. To be considered for the procedure, you’ll need to come in for an exam as well as a consultation. Both the exam and consultation will involve checking the front of your teeth and determining if veneers are right for you.

What can you expect during the procedure for Veneers & Laminates?

The procedure to place veneers is quick and takes very little time in-office. You’ll come in and have the fronts of your teeth slightly buffed. Buffing the teeth ensures that the veneers don’t look bulky and will adhere properly to the teeth themselves. Impressions will be taken so that the new veneers can be made for you in a local dental laboratory. The veneers are then placed onto the front of your teeth and filed down as needed. With great care and maintenance, your new veneers can last for up to a decade.
